What is medical marijuana?
Medical marijuana is the use of the marijuana plant to treat various diseases in conditions.
It is when marijuana is taken for medicinal purposes rather than recreational.
Medical marijuana is used for treating various ailments:
Alzheimer's
Appetite loss cancer
Crohn's disease
Multiple sclerosis
HIV eating disorders
Epilepsy
Glaucoma
Mental health conditions like schizophrenia PTSD
Nausea
Pain
Seizures
Wasting syndrome (Cachexia)
How does Medical marijuana work?
Marijuana works to treat these conditions by working on the cannabinoid receptors in your brain. The cannabinoid receptors are part of the endocannabinoid system which is an essential part of your nervous system.THC is able to bind to cannabinoid receptors in your brain to produce various effects such as pain management.
How do you take it?
Medical marijuana can be taken by inhaling
Consuming orally
Applying as a lotion or placing a few drops of liquid in your mouth
There are side effects such as:
Depression
Dizziness
Fast heartbeat
Hallucinations
Low blood pressure
**Medical marijuana may not be a good option for every patient.**
How can you get a medical marijuana certification at exceptional?
1)you must register online with the Maryland Medical cannabis Commission

2)You must also submit an electronic copy of a government issued photo identification this identification must show your address in a clear photo
3)When you receive your mmcc patient ID number then you can come to Exceptional to continue the process.
4)Once we have received your ID we will have you fill out a release of liability and begin the Tel-health or in person visit.
MMCC certifications cost $155 for certification and recertification

5)After you have seen the provider, they will issue a certification that can be used at a medical dispensary in Maryland.
This certification will be active for a year
